Lanza techVentures Portfolio Company Altia Systems Signs Agreement to be Acquired by GN Audio
Altia Systems Will Enable GN Audio to Move into Integrated Audio, Video Communications
PALO ALTO, CALIF. –– February 28, 2019 –– Lanza techVentures today announced GN Audio (Jabra) signed an agreement to acquire its portfolio company Altia Systems® of Cupertino, Calif.
The agreement is expected to be finalized shortly.
Altia Systems is recognized as an innovative developer of premium video communications solutions utilizing digital multi-camera array technology marketed under the brand PanaCast. In announcing the acquisition, GN Audio noted that Altia Systems will enable GN Audio to expand into integrated audio and video communications solutions, supporting a company’s need for collaboration and meeting efficiency.
“Lanza techVentures believed in our technology from the beginning and supported us all along the way,” says Aurangzeb Khan, president and CEO of Altia Systems. “Lucio Lanza has been a valuable strategy advisor as the industry well knows.”
“Altia Systems’ creative and dedicated team immediately attracted me and my investment partners,” remarks Lucio Lanza, Lanza techVentures’ managing partner. “Equally important is the PanaCast intelligent vision technology that creates a true impression of being present. In today’s global society, distance won’t matter with technology such as Altia Systems’ because its camera is almost as good as being there. The PanaCast intelligent vision with intelligent audio enables industry-leading products.”
Adding video capabilities from Altia Systems gives GN Audio immediate access to the integrated audio and video solutions market for small collaboration rooms, known as huddle rooms. GN Audio commands a strong position in the Unified Communications market with the Jabra Evolve line of headphones and leadership in speakerphones for small meeting rooms and personal use with the Jabra Speak line of products.
